So many wonderful books, so little time…a preview of 2013.

The WSJ comforts those of us who love what my friend Catherine fondly refers to as “dead tree books.” I must admit that I’m fond of my Nook when trying to read over my baby’s head, but nothing compares to a dead tree book.

For myriad reasons, I strongly dislike Katie Roiphe. But even I found myself nodding when I read her guide to writing memoir. Horrible personal writing is a huge pet peeve of mine.

  1. Ha! I think I heard “dead tree books” in The New York Times. It’s always stuck with me. I like to think of them as “repurposed tree books.” These trees are very much alive as storytellers. I’m on team print book for sure.
