Jason played this video for me and we both just watched the whole thing in horror. Why? WHY?!
Apple is reportedly thinking about backing the annual prize for women’s fiction formerly supported by Orange. I know that reads like a giant parody, but it’s not!
I love this bookshelf staircase…for people who don’t have cats. I can only imagine the cat hair tufts that would be floating around this thing if it lived in my house.
All of the Harry Potter chapter art in one image.
How Paperbacks Transformed the Way Americans Read. Super interesting read! (Hat tip to Lizy).
This article about the world’s top-earning authors makes me really, really sad. E.L. James? Stephanie Meyer? BLARGH.

Okay! Your weekend links sent me on a Saturday morning search. Mention of EL James reminded me that a week or so ago I heard Anne Rice on NPR talking about her erotic books, the Sleeping Beauty series, that she published under the name of RN Roquelaure. It took a little bit – I had to go to Wikipedia to get the Roquelaure name. The books weren’t listed in my library under her own name. In the interview Rice was very polite about James and said that the popularity of the Shades books had brought a little uptick in the Sleeping Beauties, although she also said they have sold well over the years. I’m not a big lover of vampire books/movies but I loved her books Cry to Heaven and Interview with a Vampire when they first came out in the late 70s, early 80s. I’m reserving them at the library and will report back. Also going on a search for Roquelaure. Love me some nice erotica!
I really REALLY want to get a larger size of that Harry Potter chapter artwork image and get it framed.
